With only a week to go I made my way over to the Outpost Art from the Streets Project on
Cockatoo Island. The Island has been transformed into one of the biggest
street art canvases in the Southern Hemisphere featuring artist from around the
world. With an impressive collection of Banksy's work and don’t take away for a
second the work by local artists I was absolutely blown away.
You can get a list of the featured artists and other exhibitions at the Outpost Project Website. I have to give the the Aus government credit for giving these amazing guys a platform to demo and show the work they do.

For early December the weather was something horrible and it managed to stop raining just long enough to get around and see all that was on offer. Good thing I wasn't out side when this washing machine came crashing down.
Some how I managed to find the work between the work. Clearly this island had been taken over by talent and everything across the island had been transformed in to something underground.
No way I would have been able to capture everything the island had to offer but here are some of my favourites. Tell me what you think?
The Project was also a home to Secret Wars Australia, a creative battle Street vs Street. I didn't get to see any battles but the aftermath looks amazing.
One of the most surprising sections that I had no idea about and the one I spent the most time at was a hall devoted to Tees and the art. I can't even tell you how many great Tees they had on display but I wanted all of them. I wish they had more literature I could take home so I could Google some of the online stores. UPDATE: After a little research once I got home I was able to find more information on T-World.
I have heaps of pictures of the day and like I mentioned no way I could have shared it all. It was a great day out and high recommend and hope this becomes an annual event.
Ok so now for my negative side note. As much as I was blown away and loved the location I felt everything to be very controlled and actually the art some what limited to the "street" or "canvas" that is made available. What I love most about street art is how it interacts with the real world and our everyday life.
Love the work keep it up!
